Cooperative Diploma in Organic Land Care
Please Note:
This is a new program.
Until we gain some experience with it
it will be restricted to students studying in North America.
We welcome your feedback
In the Co-operative Diploma Program in Organic Land Care students
work with a mentor to complete the required Certificate in Organic
Landscape Management, and other formal and practical training in
one of two areas:
- organic ornamental horticulture

In many parts of the world it is customary for trades people to
move from place to place and study with different masters, until
they themselves become experts in their trade (hence the term "journeyman").
This is a great system, because no single teacher can know everything,
and no single school can satisfy all interests.
It is also an extremely relevant system at this time of social
change, where new skills are required quickly, but the educational
infrastructure changes slowly. The Co-operative Diploma Program
in Organic Land Care addresses this challenge in that it:
- enables students to gain a broader knowledge of environmentally
sound practices than could be offered at a single educational
facility or workplace
|
- grants students academic credit for many of the excellent
and diverse holistic programs offered across North America
and in other parts of the world.

The program consists of four components:
